The Breezy Break web site was started in January 2007 to chart our experiences of moving out to the Limousin region of France and to provide Limousin specific information to entertain and assist people contemplating the same move. A consequence of this is that we now get
5,000 visitors a month (and its growing) to our web site and appear on the first results page of Google for many searches involving the words Limousin France for example Gardening Limousin France, DIY Limousin France.

This is a web site for an estate agent business in the Limousin region
of France. The brief was for a clean looking site that was easy to
navigate and loaded quickly. Within weeks the site was showing at number
14 out of a possible 630,000 results on Yahoo and now sits at NUMBER
1 for the search Limousin property receiving over 3,000 visitors per
month.
The content of the site is frequently updated as the property portfolio
grows. The client simply forwards the details of her properties as she
takes them on and I maintain the site. This leaves her free to
concentrate on growing her new business.

Small Business Guide to Internet Advertising
Advertising on the internet is fraught with pitfalls and difficulties for the small to medium size business whether in the Limousin or any other area of France. Here are just a few things you need to consider

Budget
Consider the cost of your advertising budget over the whole of the year. Do not splash it all out on one website without first checking the status of that site within search results. Expensive is not always the best and the best looking websites are not always the most popular hang-outs for your audience.
Target audience
Internet advertising unlike ads in papers can have its impact measured in various ways, not just by circulation. On the internet it is you who makes your advert junk mail by incorrect targeting of your audience.
Association
Quite often the obvious can be overlooked, for example is my Gite next door to a golf course? If so why not advertise on a golfing web site rather than just competing with lots of other holiday gites on a more general site.
Search results
The aspiration of most internet advertisers is to appear on the first page of internet browsers like Google in search queries for their chosen product.
This in most cases is expensive, and time consuming. Yes you can make your own website and have a go, but quite often the time involved would be better spent in your own area of expertise, and it is possible to ride the coat tails of an existing website onto the first page so why break the bank

Competition
Very often you will find lots of the same types of business’s advertising on one website. This is okay for directories for listing purposes or when its free but the risk is your customers can’t see you for your competitors. If you already advertise on one of these sites say for bed and breakfast in Limousin along with no doubt hundreds of others you have not made a mistake, but you have only just begun your advertising campaign!
